Treatments for Lazy Eye

Lazy Eye TreatmentsYou’ve probably heard of lazy eye but do you know what it is?

Amblyopia, also called lazy eye, usually impacts only one eye and is not correctable by contact lenses or eye glasses.  It is the leading cause of vision loss in people under 40.  Lazy eye is not the same thing as having a crossed eye, although it is often mistaken for this.

Research shows that lazy eye treatment can be successful for older children, teens and adults.  The doctors at Medical Eye Center in Medford can determine the appropriate treatment for lazy eye which can include:

  • Eye patching
  • Vision therapy that includes eye exercises
  • Neurological therapies

For more information on lazy eye treatments, please call our office to schedule an eye exam.
