Community Involvement
The Rogue Valley is a great place to live and work. To help those in our community, Medical Eye Center has a long-standing tradition of giving back. We've helped raise over $200,000 for local elders and low-income families.
ACCESS Hometown Heroes
ACCESS Inc. has been helping Jackson County residents break the cycle of poverty since 1976. With a focus on education, ACCESS helps seniors and low-income families survive economic crisis by helping them become self-sustaining. Programs are researched and designed to address problems ranging from one-time emergencies to longer-term issues. ACCESS is a local non-profit and has one of the highest efficiency rates when compared to other non-profits providing the same level of service. This efficiency is due in large part to the efforts of community volunteers.
Medical Eye Center has had a sustaining relationship with ACCESS for over two decades. In 2007, Medical Eye Center was an ACCESS Hometown Heroes award recipient. With this award, ACCESS recognized Medical Eye Center's commitment to improving the quality of life for Rogue Valley seniors, low-income families and persons with disabilities. For more information, visit the ACCESS website.
Empowering Seniors
Medical Eye Center is the title sponsor for the ACCESS Senior Fair. This annual event offers important services to our senior population and is a fun event for vendors and seniors alike. It is intended to provide reliable information, dependable services, and useful products to seniors. The Senior Fair features free eye and ear tests, along with over 65 vendors from healthcare and living facilities, professional services, arts organizations and more.
Joining forces with La Clinica
Dr. Paul Imperia and the team from Medical Eye Center are providing eye exams and optical services for low income and uninsured patients served by La Clinica. Monthly eye care clinics are now being offered at La Clinica offices around the Valley. “We’re so grateful to Dr. Imperia and his staff for their generous support”, says Medical Director Dr. Ken Rhee. “They’re filling a great need in our community for low cost eye exams and glasses. Our patients are extremely grateful!” For more information, visit the La Clinica website.
Teeing Up For Charity
Our staff golfers teamed-up to play in this year’s Rogue Valley Manor Foundation’s Annual Benefit Golf Tournament and the Annual ACCESS Charity Golf Tournament.
