Pete Spitellie, MD

Dr. Pete Spitellie is a board-eligible, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, also known as Oculoplastics. Dr. Spitellie is southern Oregon's only oculoplastic specialist.

Dr. Spitellie focuses on corrective and reconstructive surgeries, including procedures to improve eyelid function, repair lid position to reduce tearing and irritation of the eyes, improve tear drainage issues, and remove lesions and tissue samples for biopsies.

In 2007, Dr. Spitellie completed an oculoplastic and reconstructive fellowship with David Jordan, MD, one North America's most respected oculoplastic surgeons. Dr. Spitellie has taught and lectured to ophthalmology residents at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute and has given numerous presentations to his peers.

Dr. Spitellie skillfully addresses the issues of both function and aesthetics. "Practicing oculoplastics gives me a chance to be creative and develop a unique plan for each person I treat," Dr. Spitellie says. "I knew Medical Eye Center was the right choice for me because of its strong team of doctors and high regard for individualized patient care."

Outside of the office, Pete enjoys the outdoors by running, hiking, and telemark skiing. He also loves music, cooking, and spending time with his wife Michelle and their children.

Dr. Spitellie is currently accepting new patients.
