Visit our CASA Giving Trees and Support Children in Need

We are excited to announce an opportunity for you to partner with us to make a difference for children in our local community: the CASA Giving Trees. These trees represent the spirit of giving and offer a tangible way to help children in Jackson and Josephine counties. This year, our three locations will serve as hubs for the CASA Giving Trees, allowing us to play a role in spreading holiday cheer.

What is CASA?

CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, operates as a national network of nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting and advocating for children navigating the legal system due to abuse or neglect. Volunteers, appointed by judges, undergo comprehensive training to investigate and assess the circumstances surrounding each child’s case. These CARING advocates attend court hearings, represent the child’s best interests, and collaborate with various stakeholders, including social workers and attorneys. Through monitoring and follow-up, CASA volunteers ensure that court-ordered services are provided, and the child is placed in a safe and stable environment. By offering consistent support and acting as a steadfast presence, CASA volunteers play a crucial role in providing a voice for these children, aiming to secure their well-being, safety, and permanency throughout the legal process. If you’re interested in becoming one of these important child advocates, you can find out more here.

Why CASA?

At MEC, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting those in need. While there are many worthy causes throughout our community this season, the CASA Giving Trees align perfectly with our values, providing us with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children during the festive season. By participating in this campaign, we aim to bring smiles to the faces of youngsters who may be facing challenging circumstances. We are so grateful for your participation and partnership.

How the Giving Trees work:

Starting now, you can be a part of our CASA Giving Trees initiative by visiting any of our three MEC locations:

  • 1333 East Barnett Road, Medford, Oregon 97504
  • 881 NE 7th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526
  • 221 West Stewart Avenue #110, Medford, Oregon 97501

Our team will adorn each tree with special tickets, representing the holiday wishes of deserving children in our community. We invite you to stop by, pick a ticket, and fulfill a child’s Christmas wish by donating a toy or gift. You will need to return your gift (with the tag from the tree attached) by December 20th.

Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of these youngsters and show them that our community cares. Whether you’re a patient or simply a community member, your contribution matters. Let’s come together as a community to make this holiday season memorable for those who need it most.
