Katherine Joltikov, MD

GENERAL OPHTHALMOLOGY AND ANTERIOR SEGMENT SURGEON

Dr. Katherine Joltikov is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with an expertise in cataracts, glaucoma, oculoplastics, uveitis, and medical retinal conditions. Dr. Joltikov completed her undergraduate degree at Queens University in Canada, and medical school at Tel Aviv University in Israel. Following medical school, Dr. Joltikov pursued a clinical research fellowship in diabetic retinopathy at the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center.

Dr. Joltikov completed ophthalmology residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. Recognized for her proficiency and leadership, she was appointed Assistant Chief of Service at the Infirmary. In this capacity, she played an instrumental role in enhancing the residency education curriculum and supervising clinic and surgical practices of residents.

Driven by a firm belief in accessible eye care for all, Dr. Joltikov pursued a Global Ophthalmology Fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. She performed cataract surgeries at the Aravind Eye Hospital in India and the Kisii Eye Hospital in Kenya. She also worked on capacity building for the San Felipe Hospital Residency and Fellowship programs in Honduras.

Dr. Joltikov has achieved many accolades and acknowledgments in both her academic work and career path. She has authored several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has been invited to speak at numerous national and international conferences. Additionally, she actively participates in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Women in Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. 

Dr. Joltikov’s interests and hobbies outside of work are creatively inspired. She enjoys all the outdoors activities of the Pacific Northwest taking advantage of the local hiking and swimming opportunities, but largely  spends her time dabbling in the culinary arts, experimenting with anything vegetarian. She also can be found chasing a musical note as she loves to dance, having a background in ballet and jazz.
