Dr. Jorizzo is one of Southern Oregon’s most sought-after cataract and glaucoma specialists. He is a board-certified ophthalmic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in glaucoma.
One of the most experienced cataract surgeons in the country, Dr. Jorizzo has performed over 15,000 cataract surgeries. He offers patients the latest surgical techniques and intraocular lens technologies that not only treat cataracts, but also improve distance vision, reading vision and everything in between. As a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist, he offers a spectrum of glaucoma care, including laser and surgical treatments that are specially selected to meet the needs of each patient.
Dr. Jorizzo has lectured widely and has published numerous scientific papers. He has also been the principle investigator for an array of clinical research performed at Medical Eye Center.
Dr. Jorizzo voluntarily shares his surgical skills with people in need in our community and internationally. He works with the Himalayan Cataract Project, an international aid organization whose mission is to cure blindness in underdeveloped regions of the world. In addition to performing surgeries, Dr. Jorizzo also takes time to train local ophthalmologists by consulting, lecturing and teaching procedures in the operating room. He also works extensively with Pacific Islands Medical Aid (PIMA) and Surgical Eye Expedition International (SEE International) providing surgical eye care in the Pacific Islands.
Dr. Jorizzo enjoys photography, fly fishing, and exploring the world with his family.
