Greeter & Sanitizer

During these unusual times, this position is vitally important in supporting the health of our employees and our patients. MEC Greeter & Sanitizers are our community health champions, and as the first point of contact in our facility, they set the tone for the patient journey at MEC. The ideal candidate is outgoing, confident, compassionate, and has strong communication skills. A person in this role will screen patients for symptoms associated with COVID-19, will inform patients of our safety protocols, assist patients with proper use of masks or other personal protective equipment, track inventory of personal protective equipment used each day, clean patient care spaces, equipment, furniture, etc. in an effort to keep patients operations running smoothly, and will go above and beyond to create a warm, welcoming environment while upholding our safety protocols.

SPECIAL TESTING TECHNICIAN

Our special testing technicians are the information collectors who support our mission to deliver exceptional eye care.  These individuals guide patients during testing, help to ease the anxiety that many patients experience, while simultaneously paying close attention to the details of the test they are completing for our doctors.

The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, communicates well, and has great attention to detail. A person in this role will work directly in patient care-assisting patients with positioning, collecting medical information, preparing, sanitizing and calibrating equipment, and completing accurate measurements and special testing.

The starting wage for special testing technicians is $13.00/hour. Over time, many special testing technicians advance to become certified ophthalmic technicians or lead technicians with wages ranging up to $26.00/hour. Ophthalmic Technician

Our technicians are at the heart of our core purpose at MEC, which is to care for patients in a truly special way.  Our technicians comprise a unique powerhouse team grounded in technical skill and human connection. These individuals support our patients throughout their eye health journey by working closely with doctors and collaborating with team members across departments, in order to craft a remarkable patient experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, compassionate, has outstanding communication skills, and is passionate about delivering incredible customer service. A person in this role will work directly in patient care.  He/she will interview patients about their concerns and goals, collect medical information, complete measurements and special testing, scribe during doctor examination, and coordinate communication and care elements with outside facilities.

OPTICAL ASSISTANT

The Optical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting our optical team and our patients. This employee keeps operations efficient by keeping the retail environment tidy and organized, maintaining pristine inventory management, supporting the optician team in timely completion of administrative tasks, and by delivering top-notch customer service to our patients.

The ideal candidate is energetic, highly organized, demonstrates extreme attention to detail, and thrives on supporting teammates to succeed!

A person in this role will assess inventory of eyeglass frames, place orders with vendors, receive merchandise into our practice management database, create profiles for new merchandise, regularly clean and organize our product displays, assist with optical reception duties, and periodically aid the Optical Manager in conducting a quarterly inventory reconciliation.

REGISTERED NURSE

Our team of Registered Nurses play an integral role in helping our patients see the world differently!

Working alongside our surgeons and collaborating with our care team, our RNs ensure that each patient feels seen, heard, and genuinely cared for throughout their surgical journey. Our RNs keep our operations running smoothly and care for our patients with medical expertise and compassionate, human connection.

The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to details, has outstanding communication skills, and above all, is compassionate. This person will work directly with patients in pre and post-operative settings as well as intra-operative care and circulating in the operating room. He/she will interview patients, collect and review medical and health information, monitor vital signs, carry out treatment plans, assist with patient positioning, provide support to surgical team, ensure asepsis of field and technique, and coordinate communication and care elements with other team members and patient family members.

The wage range for Registered Nurses is $32.00/hour to $41.00/hour.
